Day01 |
Colombo Int'l Airport - NegomboWelcome on arrival at the airport and transfer to Negombo. In the afternoon do a City Tour of Negombo including a boat ride in the Dutch Canal and Negombo Lagoon. Negombo is a characteristic fishing town, It is a mere 6 km. from the International Airport. Set amid lush groves of coconut palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. Negombo is a gourmet's paradise with seafood in plenty. Old World Fishing Craft like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran bring seer, skipjack, herring and mullet, pomfret and amber - jack while lobster and prawns are caught in the lagoon. Overnight stay at a hotel in Negombo. |

Day02 |
Negombo - WilpattuAfter breakfast drive to Wilpattu for trekking and camping. Leave the Negombo hotel at 8 a.m. proceed through Kochchikade and cross the bridge over one of the main rivers Mahaweli, which falls to the sea nearby Kochchikade. The location where the river meets the sea is also very beautiful. Marawila is very famous for handmade batiks. We stop at a small Batik Factory, which produces Batik Clothing. Further, we see the interesting coconut plantations, which brings us the toddy, a kind of syrup , which we distill to get the arrack (30-35% alcohol). This process is another small industry in this area. We drive further towards Chilaw with a beautiful landscape. Another city with industry: Prawn Farming you see on the way. The guide will explain each and every sight on the trip to you. We drive further to Puttalam, where we take a break after arrival. Then we proceed towards Wilpattu, which is one of the famous national parks of the Island. It is located in the northern part of the island and an area about 1,300 square km. A lot of different animals like bears, leopards, elephants, birds, monkeys and more live there. The park has been closed for about 20 years and now opened its gates again. Be one of the first visiting this area!!!! We drive in the border of the national park and get down from the vehicle. Starting the most interesting natural trail trek by the boundary line of the park. We trek to Hunuwilegama. We walk through the jungle and passing some 2,000 years old water tanks and arrive nearby a beautiful paddy field and stop for late lunch. Everybody will enjoy: red rice, nelum rice, fresh fried lake fish, fresh vegetables and some meat dishes will be served on a lotus leaf. For desert: fresh fruits. After lunch break walk further and see the beauty of the nature, which cannot be explained in this small note. Sometimes you will see Peacocks and many migrant birds as well as Sri Lankan. Visit a farmer's house and they will explain you about paddy cultivation and how to protect it especially at night from elephants. And there are small houses built on top of the trees to protect the cultivation from animals. We see further two more natural tanks and also some remote villages where very innocent people live. We walk into a smaller jungle and arrive to our camping site nearby a beautiful tank approximately 05.30 - 6 p.m. Dinner and overnight stay at Wilpattu. |

Day03 |
Wilpattu - RajanganayaBreakfast at the camp. Tea and coffee, fresh fruits, bread,, butter, jam, natural honey, etc. Then short walk to Don Bosco, a technical and rehabilitation center, which is very interesting to see. There are street and poor children given education. One of the priest or teacher will explain about the center. After we continue the walk in the direction Rajangane. We visit the Watergate of Halmillekulama. There you could see the locals are having a bath together with children enjoying the swim. We walk along the back of this canal connected to a large pond. On this way you could see lotus flowers, nelum flowers and also Nilmanel flowers in the water tanks. After approximately 1hour walk we get into the vehicle and drive through one of the most beautiful sceneries of vegetable plantations, paddy fields and beatiful landscape. |

Day04 |
Rajanganaya - PolonnaruwaAfter breakfast drive to Polonnaruwa. Overnight stay at Polonnaruwa. |

Day05 |
Polonnaruwa - SigiriyaAfter Breakfast do a City tour of Polonnaruwa Proceed to Sigiriya check in to the hotel and in the evening climb the Lions Rock at Sigiriya. This Rock Fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th Century A.D. and was a Royal Citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare. Was the site of the palace, the outer wall of which was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO-sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya's 5th century Water Gardens to their former glory. Overnight stay at Sigiriya.. |

Day06 |
Sigiriya - KandyAfter breakfast drive to Habarana for elephant ride and proceed via Dambulla Cave temple and then to Kandy. In the evening witness cultural dancing show. Kandy is Sri Lanka's hill capital, strong hold of the Sinhala Kings, is our most beautiful town. It is 488 meters above sea level and next to Colombo is Sri Lanka's most visited place. The focal point of the town is without doubt, the golden roofed Dalada Maligawa where the Sacred Tooth of the Buddha is enshrined. Overnight stay at Kandy. |

Day07 |
KandyAfter breakfast do a City Tour of Kandy including Peradeniya garden. Peradeniya is situated 6 km from Kandy. Peradeniya is noted for its large number and great variety of plants. The gardens contain over 4,000 species and varieties making it one of the best and most valuable collections in the world. One of the main attractions is the Orchid House. Overnight stay in Kandy. |

Day08 |
Kandy - KithulgalaAfter breakfast proceed to the Kandy Train Station. Board the train and join the train trip to Nawalapitiya. The coach will be there at Nawalapitiya and thereafter continue to Kithulgala.Check into the Hotel in Kithulgala. Join the rafting and experience real adventure. After rafting you can enjoy the dip in the Kithulgala River and swim in the natural waters. Overnight stay in Kithulgala. |

Day09 |
Kithulgala - ColomboAfter an early breakfast join the Bird Watch Hiking. In the rain forest you can witness twenty out of twenty five native birds of Sri Lanka. This is the ideal tracking for the bird watchers.
