Anuradhapura - Mihintale - Polonnaruwa

After beakfast do a City Tour in Anuradhapura Sacred City

PLACES OF INTEREST: The Sacred Bo Tree (The world's oldest authenticated tree. A branch of the very Bo Tree beneath with the Lord Buddha himself found Enlightenment), Abyagiri Dagaba, Jetavanaramaya. The Brazen Palace, The Thuparama Dagaba, The Samadhi Buddha (This 4th century A.D. Statue of the Buddha in meditative pose is acknowledged worldwide as a masterpiece), The Kuttam Pokuna (Twin Ponds), The Mirisawetiya Dagaba. Afternoon visit to Mihintale, the most Sacred Historic place of the North Central part of Sri Lanka where Arahat Mahinda Thero, son of the Emperor Asoka preached his first sermonn to King Devanampiyatissa, the first Buddhist follower of Sri Lanka. Climb the Mihintale Rock and then proceed to Polonnaruwa, medieval capital (11th - 13th century A.D.) of Sri Lanka. Overnight stay at a hotel in Polonnaruwa.

After Breakfast Polonnaruwa City Tour also be served with the set dinner.

PLACES OF INTEREST: Royal Citadel, Kumara Pokuna, Royal Pavilion, Siva Temple, Gal Vihara - the most impressive sculptures are the colossal Buddha images carved on the face of a granite boulder. Then proceed to Sigirya Rock Fortress. Climb the Rock Fortress. Thereafter visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temple and proceed to a meditation Centre in Kandy for overnight stay.

After breakfast proceed to Colombo. Enroute visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage where you see many baby elephants are being bottle fed by their human parents and after feeding time watch them having a bath at a nearby river. Evening City Tour of Colombo including a visit to Gangarama Temple. Overnight stay at a hotel in Colombo.
